In a major coup for greenwashers worldwide, Chevrolet recently won the award for Green Car of the Year with a Tahoe Hybrid that gets — wait for it — 22 mpg highway.
Umm…wow. I have a truck that was built eight years ago that tops that. Science has gone backward since then I guess. Soon we’ll have uninvented electricity altogether. And what is this “fire” you speak of? Read on for quotes/comedy.
From the MSN article:
“This is a milestone in many respects,” said Green Car Journal editor and publisher Ron Cogan. “People don’t think ‘green’ when SUVs are concerned, and for generally good reason since SUVs often get poor fuel economy compared to most other vehicles.”
Right. Such as trucks built nearly a decade ago. Cogan continues:
“Chevrolet’s Tahoe Hybrid changes this dynamic with a fuel efficiency improvement of up to 30 percent compared to similar vehicles equipped with a standard V8.”
So as soon as we clear up why soccer moms need a V8 in the first place, I suppose we can continue this conversation without laughing in the face of logic. Until then…suck it, common sense!
